Gonna Pounce part 7

LOL i've been thinking about this dumb reveal for like 2 years. It's so dumb hahahaha, I'm very happy with it!
Thanks for sticking with me everyone, you're all great.
This weeks Rec's:
Don't Eat Eustace by Lian Cho

AHHHHHHHH this is amazing. I love this book about a nonbinary bear lighthouse keeper and their burgeoning passion for seamstering. They find a fish named Eustace and definitely don't intend to eat him. This is probably my favorite picture book of the year. Very funny, great art and good vibes.

Year Round by Audrey Helen Weber

A beautiful little book of seasonal wishes, questions and feelings. Wonderful guache paintings accompany small poetic thoughts. A little more easygoing, but really REALLY reminds me of the incredible, out of print, If You're Afraid of the Dark, Remember the Night Rainbow
Doing bedtime readings with this kind of writing is extra-pleasant, in my opinion.

The Polar Bear and the Ballerina by Eric Velasquez

A very endearing polar bear befriends a ballerina and escapes captivity in order to join her on stage. I'm not usually excited for wordless picture books, but I tried this one on my 3 yr old and she got really into it. Also I don't usually go for books with this more realistic art style. However, the artist really manages to instill a looseness and humor into the characters that I really appreciated. My whole family is very involved with the local ballet studio and we will definitely be getting a copy for the lobby.

That's all for this week, thanks!!!
