Gonna pounce part 1

I started this comic a little while back and was posting it on Bluesky, and I'm pretty sure most of my subscribers here will be new to it. It's going to be my next mini-comic, hopefully published in time for the comics fest TWIST on October 3rd. I'll post 4 parts per week here until it's finished, and if you love my work and would like to help me out, a paid subscription would do wonders!

This Weeks Rec, Labor Day edition:

Yesterday was Labor day and this is actually a perfect pick for Labor day, hang tight it will all make sense.
Ok, so this book. It's the best book. A perfect picture book/comic bursting with creativity that works well as a read-aloud but also a great solo read for all ages. Beatrice is poor and lives with an evil sister whom she nevertheless adores. She needs to knit her evil sister a sweater so she decides to go into the forest to collect treasures to trade for yarn. In the forest she meets the witch-thing Bog Myrtle and what follows is an amazingly hilarious and grotesque fable that somehow manages to effectively illustrate the importance of unions and solidarity. My favorite part is this exchange, after the spiders (just read the book!) decide to go on strike:

I agree it would be easier to just be nicer. Hm!
I encourage everyone to own this book and, like, have it in their bathroom or something. People will think you're cool, I promise.
That's all for this week, thanks for all the fish!
